Obama launches new campaign video 'Forward'

Washington, May 1: Four years after he relied on "Hope and Change" slogan to become the US president, Barack Obama's campaign team, on Monday, Apr 30, launched a video titled "Forward" to encapsulate his reelection bid.

The seven-minute video highlights the accomplishments of Obama in the first three years of his presidency.

The video outlines the challenges America faced as Obama took office at the height of the worst recession in almost a century and details the progress that has been made reclaiming the security of the middle class and building an economy that's meant to last, where hard work pays and responsibility is rewarded.

"This video, which will serve as an important grassroots organising tool through the course of the general election, will be played live during the President's first campaign rallies next Saturday in Ohio and Virginia," the Obama Campaign said in a statement.

Simultaneously, Obama's potential Republican rival, Mitt Romney, released a new web-video describing Obama's failure to rein in spending and reduce the size of government, "Broken Promises: Spending".

The ad begins with a graphic reading, "What Barack Obama promised," cutting to Obama's speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2008.

"I will also go through the federal budget line by line, eliminating programs that no longer work and making the ones we do need work better and cost less, because we cannot meet 21st century challenges with a 20th-century bureaucracy," Obama says in the clip.
