Kareena Kapoor to lead in Telugu remake ‘Arundhati’ Movie

Kareena Kapoor is all set to play a queen in the Hindi remake of the classic film Arundhati. The Telugu movie starred Anushka Shetty and it fared quite well at the box office in 2009.

The sultry Kareena is stepping in Anushka’s shoes and is very thrilled to be playing the powerful character in the woman centric movie.

Arundhati is an action-packed thriller and Sonu Sood who played a baddie in the original, is going to retain his role. Actress Anushka had won many accolades for her role in the film.

Earlier, actresses such as Katrina Kaif and Rani Mukherjee were approached for the role. However, none of them could do it because of date issues. Gemini Film Circuit has acquired the rights of the remake and it is said the makers are planning to do the film on a big scale.
